In the GTF yesterday we worked on developing authentic assessments and I put together this draft for our final assessment.

GOALS

  • evaluate scientific and popular information for relevance and authority
  • explain and analyze evidence for climate change
  • articulate the link between combustion chemistry and climate change

ASSESSMENT

You are a museum curator for hte local science museum.  recently your community has experienced unusally hot summers and a lack of rain that has led to drought conditions.  Your museum directory has tasked you with developing an interactive unit for all ages (5-80) that shows the scientific explanation for climate change and how they are linked to energy use, emphasizing local weather conditions AND debunks common misunderstandings about global warming an weather patterns.
